We’ve missed you at the YMCA of South Alabama! These past few months have been so challenging for all of us and we thank you for doing your part to help stop the spread of coronavirus – especially for the benefit of our most vulnerable neighbors.
As a nonprofit dedicated to keeping our community healthy, safe and thriving for all, our members make our impact possible.

WHAT TO EXPECT

DEEP CLEANS
- Continuous scheduled disinfection of high-touch surfaces through our facilities
- Adjusted facility hours to allow for fogging and deep cleaning
ENHANCED PROCEDURES
- Staff members receive ongoing training on cleaning protocols and are provided disinfecting kits
SELF-CLEANING STATIONS
- Easy, readily available equipment disinfectant spray
- Hand-sanitizing stations located throughout our facilities
AQUATICS
- Upon entry, sign in with name, lane number & current time
- Must shower before entering the pool (portable showers will be located on the pool deck)
- Lap swim for ages 10 & up
- One person per lane
- Swimmer must stay in the middle of their lane in order to maintain social distancing
- Swim time will be limited to 30 minutes
- Equipment will not be available for use, please bring your own
- Enter & exit at shallow end only
- Spas, hot tubs, saunas and steam rooms are closed
GROUP EX
- Availability is limited
- 10 – 15 classes per week
- 50% occupancy in order to follow social distancing guidelines
- Bring a personal mat, towels & water bottle
- The Y will no longer supply soft equipment such as mats, blocks, bolsters etc due to sanitization practices per the CDC
- All participants must maintain 6ft social distancing before, during and after class
- Personal space for each participant will be designated with floor markers
- Silver Sneakers classes will be offered Monday, Wednesday and Friday (one class per day)
LOCKER ROOMS & SHOWERS
- Lockers for storage of personal items are available
- Showers are open with 50% capacity

During the month of MARCH 2021 pay healthy living forward! Refer a friend and receive 50% off your next month’s membership dues and your friend will receive 100% off their joiner’s fee! At the end of month, each member and referred friend will be entered to win 5, thirty-minute sessions of Pairs Personal Training!

MEMBER CHILDWATCH
- Upon arrival, parents will complete a verbal health screening of the child and temperature will be checked (must not be higher than 99.9) before entering the facility. Staff will make a visual inspection of the child for signs of illness as well.
- No one other than staff and participants will be permitted in the Member Child Watch areas
- Sanitation stations will be present in various locations of the building, including Member Child Watch areas.
- School-aged children (5 and up) will be required to wear face coverings.
- Reservations will be required – 1 allocation per child, per day.
- No toys, food or personal items (other than items related to care).
- The YMCA will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation and make adjustments as needed or recommended by the CDC.
